I also read Interactive Narrative, Plot Types, and Interpersonal Relations, which sets up a load of terminology to argue that interactive dramatic plots are hard to make because there's a huge number of design considerations. Pretty uncontroversial stuff.
I also read Embracing the Combinatorial Explosion which puts forward goals for IF systems (agency as primary, real-time plot generation from smaller chunks, expressive interface). Also gave leads on experiments to check out: Talespin, Universe & Minst
